When faced with a big decision, T. D. Jakes uses a practice called “Thinking Yourself Clear”. Watch the short video below.

Thinking Yourself Clear

Bishop T. D. Jakes describes thinking as ‘the digestion of the mind’ and shares how he processes information when making decisions.

Deepen

I believe thinking is the digestion of the mind. And if you don’t think it through clearly, you get indigestion in your decisions.

—T.D. Jakes

Think about a decision that you are currently facing. Before assimilating all the advice you’ve been given, first get clear about the key thing(s) that you are trying to accomplish. Write it down.

Do

In the video, T.D. Jakes cautioned leaders not to take all counsel as conclusion. Instead, when faced with a big decision, he advises you to absorb all the data, opinions and advice—and then think deeply about how that information fits into what you are trying to accomplish.

In the decision you are facing, try using his process. Absorb  and think deeply. After you’ve done that, what do you now think you should do?
