As he was growing up, Craig explains that he never had a personal connection with God. But when he read this verse in his college Bible study, it changed his life: You can be made right with God, not by your own works, but by the grace of God because of who Jesus is and what He did.

  • Craig Groeschel realized it wasn’t about trying to be a better person. All he had to do was call on Jesus to be made completely new.

Jesus, I want you to come into my life. I want and need your love that I’ve been hearing about. Please come and heal me—heal my hurts and pain. I’ve done so many things in my life that have not been right, please make me whole, please make me completely new.

Jesus, thank you for coming into my life.

 

Some people feel something after they’ve prayed, while many others do not. However, whether or not you felt something, if you meant what you prayed, the truth is Jesus is now with you, filling you with His love. Jesus has come into your life and you now have the Holy Spirit inside you.

  • Tell someone who can help you grow
  • Read the Bible. If you have a Bible, start reading the book of Luke, which you can find in the New Testament (look in the table of contents for the page number).
  • Find a church
